News
- 11.05.2007: Roger Waters and Pink Floyd performed at Syd Tribute concert organized by Joe Boyd. Roger performed Flickering Flame with Jon Carin at the end of the first half of the show. Gilmour, Mason and Wright performed Arnold Lane and Bike and the end of the 2nd half.
- 05.08.2006: David Gilmour's concerts in Venice (5th and 6th August) had to be cancelled and rescheduled for 11th and 12th August due to a structural damage of the stage-scaffolding. If you watch pictures from the last concerts e.g. Munich or Burg Calm, you'll notice that the stage setup was different at every show. So the "outer" stage building (the scaffolding) seem to be errected by the local promoters and is not part of David's touring equipment.
- 29.07.2006: Some surprises at David's open air shows: The Into on Shine on is played on wine-glases. Astronomy Domine and Dark Globe made their way into the setlist.
-
30.05.2006: Surprising special guest at David's first RAH show: David Bowie sang on Arnold Lande and Comfortably Numb. Another special guests were Robert Wyatt, Crosby and Nash. On the 2nd and 3rd night Mica Paris sang on GGITS. Nick Mason joined the band on the 3rd night for the encore (WYWH and CN).
- 13.05.2006: David Gilmour adds 5 open air dates to his tout this summer: 27.07.2006 Clam (Austria),
29.07.2006 München Königsplatz,
31.07.2006 Vienne Théâtre Antique plus to dates to be anounced.

David has been quoted saying: "I'm very much looking forward to this tour and making music with the great musicians in the band. I've had a fantastic time making 'On An Island' and really want to perform tracks from it, along with my more familiar repertoire. I'm rather hoping that with this tour announcement people will believe me when I say, honestly, this is the only band I plan to tour with!"
- 03.12.2005: David Gilmour's new solo album called "On an Island" is expected to be released on his 60th birthday (March 6th 2006). It will be supportet by a tour in Europe and America. Rick Wright, Guy Pratt, Robert Wyatt, David Crosby, Graham Nash and Jools Holland will appear on the album.
- 02.07.2005: The reunion did really happen at the
Live 8 concert in London. Pink Floyd played Breathe, Money, Wish You
Were Here and Comfortably Numb. Some statements from Nick regarding
the reunion:
- "Why did we reform? It's a damn good way of spending a weekend."
- "I'm not feeling too nervous. Hopefully we'll be able to remember
most of the words!"
- "It's sort of assumed that we'll all remember how they go..."
- "Roger and Bob have enormous respect for each other; the two
of them together are a bit like Hitler and Stalin with a better sense
of humour, and in Bob's case, worse hair."
- "What we're playing? Pink Floyd songs. We tried to work up
some Deep Purple, but it didn't seemed to suit us somehow."
- David: "Well, it was a bit like sleeping with your ex-wife."
- 12.06.2005: Roger Wates reunites with Pink Floyd for Bob Geldorf's
Live8 Konzert. David Gilmour made the following statement:
"Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade
the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and
increased aid to the third world. It's crazy that America gives such
a paltry percentage of its GNP to the starving nations. Any squabbles
Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context,
and if re-forming for this concert will help focus attention then it's
got to be worthwhile." Roger said: "It's great to
be asked to help Bob raise public awareness on the issues of third world
debt and poverty. The cynics will scoff, screw 'em! Also, to be given
the opportunity to put the band back together, even if it's only for
a few numbers, is a big bonus." Nick said: "I think
a bit like the original Live Aid - what one would like, is for it to
be utterly memorable; for everyone who was there to remember it as a
really important and great event. " Asked, what numbers they're
gonna play he replied "Hopefully they'll be fairly slow numbers,
because at my advanced stage I don't want anything too fast!"

The Articles:
I don't want to start the "Pink Floyd article collection No. 237",
