Pete and Roger are working on the new who album, but work goes ahead
slow. Zak ist touring with Oasis until January 2006 and therefore
not available for gigs or recording sessions. Pete is not willing
to go on tour without new material, so it looks like we have to wait
for the new album. See the
diary-section of Pete's homepage for more details.
15.11.2004: Pete talks about his current projects.
In the Diary-section

with a tour.
26.02.2004: New Who releases ahead

30. The 20 track collection will include two new recordings by the
band, 'Real Good Looking Boy' and 'Old Red Wine'. The two tracks were
recorded December 2003 and February 2004.
A 2CD set Roger Daltrey compilation called 'ONE MAN BAND is going
to be released in the UK on May 31 2004
04.07.2003: Pete talks in Billbord.com interview about his future plans
Townshend is considering spending the summer cooking up
some backing tracks for he and Daltrey to work on and turn into a new
Who album. With half the band now gone, he is ambivalent about crediting
said album to the Who but also admits, "He and I on a stage -- whatever
we call ourselves -- can't avoid the fact that in some illusionary way
we bring down the mysterious mantle of the Who around us. It will always
happen. So we might as well call it the Who."
Met with Roger last week - he had been traveling a fair
bit and it was the first time we actually got to sit and talk. We had
a great lunch, and a very warm meeting. The Who is now being courted by
charity show organisers, and we are driven towards supporting our own
familiar charity events. We are also receiving tempting offers to play
festivals, and enjoying the more honest lure of having such a great band
to call on whenever we feel like playing. I am urging that we 'keep our
eye on the ball'. What is the ball in question? I think it must be to
try to write some good pieces (I hesitate to say 'songs' in case people
think I have ceased to be pretentious) for a new album. I believe it is
a tough time to write new music. Even younger musicians I speak to feel
burdened by what has gone before. Anyway, I have never written quickly.
I don't know how long it will take. Expect some new music to arrive in
about a year, maybe later. But if I write 15 good pieces, and 10 of them
make it to a new CD, we will probably find that only 2 or 3 of them will
stand comparison on stage with our old hits. So - doubtful as I am that
we will sell over a million records ever again - it will be a lot of work
to achieve little when we look back at our first 18 years. I think it
will be worth the time spent. I am very keen too to see Roger find some
creative outlet on this future Who recording. He is full of ideas, passion
and energy - he bears quite a disturbed and serious view of the world
at the moment. If only I can persuade him to watch that ball......

Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas after suffering an apparent heart attack.
The Who wanted to start a tour the following day. An autopsy has revealed
that cocaine was in his blood at the time of his death. John had suffered
from heart problems before.

Here are some pictures I took during the concert in Dortmund on the 8th
of May 1997. It was the first time for me and my brother that we took
pictures during a concert. We used two Fuji-Quicksnaps. One was equipped
with an APS-film which is responsible for the worse pictures...
